The Asian Mediterranean Lo Mein is a fusion noodle dish that combines Mediterranean and Asian ingredients and is prepared in a Chinese Wok.  Chinese Wok cooking relies on a heavy source of heat and is very intensive and fast paced.  The Asian Mediterranean Lo Mein is a special dish by Chef Daclaud Lee at Lotus Leaf Asian Cuisine.

INGREDIENTS

Lo Mein Noodles – 8 oz

Broccoli – 8 to 10 crown pieces

Carrot – 2 oz shredded

Onion – 2 oz sliced

Roma Tomato – 1 small Roma Tomato – sliced or diced

Thai Basil – 2 to 4 Chopped leaves

Red Bell Pepper – 1/8 of a Bell Pepper sliced

Green Bell Pepper – 1/8 of a Bell Pepper sliced

Feta Cheese – 1 oz

Olive Oil – 3 Table Spoons

Sea Salt – Dash

Black Pepper – 4 to 5 dashes

Balsamic Vinegar – 2 Table Spoons

Meat (optional) – Goes well with Chicken, Beef, Shrimp or Fish

 

Procedure:

Step 1 – Boil the lo mein noodles for 2 – 3 minutes on high heat

Step 2 – Sautee the mixed vegetables in 1 Table Spoon of Olive Oil (toss in wok for 30 seconds on high heat) – DO NOT add the Basil yet.

Step 3 – Add the lo mein noodles and toss the wok 2 – 3 times

Step 4 – Add 1 Tablespoon of Balsamic vinegar and toss the wok 2 – 3 times

Step 5 – Add 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil and toss the wok 2 – 3 times

Step 6 – Add a dash of black pepper and sea salt and toss the wok 2 – 3 times

Step 7 – Add 1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar and toss the wok 2 – 3 more times

Step 8 – Finish off with 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil and toss the wok 2 – 3 more times

Step 9 – Shimmy the noodles onto a plate

Step 10 – Garnish the dish with chopped basil and feta cheese

Step 11 – The Asian Mediterranean Lo Mein dish is Ready to eat!
