Daclaud has been a fan of zombie movies before the zombie hype and he has probably not watched more zombie movies than the die hard freaks
10. Zombie Strippers
Call me a pervert, but zombie strippers was an entertaining movie! Good mindless fun and entertainment when you’re drunk!
9. The Reanimator
I have always been a fan of HP Lovecraft and this movie is loosely based on his short story sharing the same name. I do like the story better, but this movie adaption really worked well in re-interpreting the story of Dr. Herber West in his quest to animate the dead.
8. I Am Legend
I am Legend is a remake of the Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price. Personally, I like Will Smith better even though he is well known to play douche bag roles; I won’t hold it against him, a good actor is a good actor in spite of his past roles.
7. Return of the Living Dead
Return of the Living Dead was one of the first humorous spins on a zombie movie. The zombies in this film were created by a military chemical and there was no way to kill these zombies. Most zombies movies do it with a bullet to the brain, but these zombies would still come at you even if they were decapitated.
6. The Horde (La Horde – French)
The Horde is a French zombie movie, but the characters were really dumb and did not know about head shots apparently. While the movie had a rather serious and dark feel to it, it was just plain funny as hell to see the protagonists shoot the zombies in every place but the head. You’d think that they would be able to figure it out, but they don’t seem to even get it until the very end of the movie.
5. 28 Days Later
I was pretty excited to see this when it first came out. There had not been a zombie movie made in such a long time (not a good one anyway) and I really wasn’t disappointed with the rage virus concept, but more so with the piss poor story. Even so, this movie wasn’t bad and it actually introduced us to a different type of zombie that wasn’t undead.
Zombieland is a movie that you watch for shits and giggles. Unfortunately Ohio was a nerdy hipster dude who looked like he could be a graphic designer or something, instead of a badass like me (I’m also from Ohio), but this aside, Zombieland was a very entertaining movie and included basic tips on zombie survival! Cardio being the most important!
3. The Cemetery Man
The Cemetery Man is an Italian zombie movie where the main character and his side kick are cemetery care takers who is trying to contain an undead outbreak. A funny and entertaining zombie movie that was very well done.
2. Night of the Living Dead
Hardly anything can beat the original Night of the Living Dead and I still enjoy watching this movie because it successfully captured the elements of horror where other, more modern zombie movie variations try to take a humorous take on something that should be terrifying.
1. Dawn of the Dead 2004
When I first watched this movie, I was just blown away. I had never seen a zombie movie like this in my entire life and I probably ended up watching this movie an uncountable amount of time. Dawn of the Dead remake was what inspired games like Left 4 Dead because of the frightfully fast and terrifyingly vicious undead zombie instead of the slow, shambling zombie. The zombies in Dawn of the Dead remake were just plain scary for this very reason, because no amount of cardio could prepare you for being chased after these things when you run out of bullets.
