Mini Review on a Sample : Lemon Cloud by Roca Perfume
The Scent : Lemon Cloud by Roca Perfume Starts with a beautiful bright lemon citrus scent (as it should), then it hits with slight pinch of sweetness but not too much (think pink lemonade). Then it feels like a sweet and tempting dessert soon afterwards (one of those desserts that make you feel guilty with pleasure), almost like lemon meringue cream pie (think Chanel EB). You can actually smell the whipped up creamy lemon tart filling that lies within the crust of the pie (think custard, fresh cut lemons (the scent from the peel and the scent from the fruit itself), a little bit of milk or heavy cream, and then some sweet pie crust) Once it dries down , it felt creamier and you can tell the intro was the star of the show. You almost lose all that citrus punch, you lose the crust and it seems it’s only the custard left with a bit of a floral aroma. Sadly, this scent seemed to have lost all steam ahead after an hour or two. Just like the name implies, the “cloud like” citrus scent is spot on; it’s really subtle and it’s very much like taking a whiff of a fresh lemon meringue pie while sitting down at the patio of a bistro cafe on a beautiful and hot summer day.
Production Value : It was pretty weak on me, I was looking at 4 hours on this one, and very soft projection.
The Score : (✭✭✭) All three stars go to that beautiful intro, it was fantastic, the dry down was a huge let down. Sadly I was excited about this release , happy I sampled instead of blind buying.
