Mini Review on a Sample : Vetiver Fatal by Atelier
The Scent : This is a really a great mesh of notes here to make an overall excellent vetiver based scent with a dash of sweetness and tons of fresh notes making this one of the best summer fragrance of the vetiver type in a long while for me. I felt the softer notes like the bergamot and oranges , plum freshening up the vetiver base while I was in the intro of this scent, the plum/orange combo made a an exquisitely, striking impression, Vetiver Fatal has a sparkling like quality (think grapefruit squeezed into fresh seltzer water). Once this dries down , there isn’t much development in this one, but you do get a little bit of that violet that peaks up (keeping up with that fresh theme), then you will gradually lose some of the citrus notes and the vetiver basically amps up just a bit, but it just plain smells good to me, would I pay the price they ask for this luscious scent! Eh, I’m on the fence now! I know this one has a ton of lovers, but the Atelier brand as a whole isn’t top notch for me, as I always felt they were good but never great; this is how I feel about Vetiver Fatal.
Production Value : The scent itself lasted 5-6 hours (not bad, but i’d like more and something that lingers on afterwards, at least faintly) and the projection was only moderate at best. I believe some people may get way more out of it than me, but it never jumped off my skin.
The Score : (✭✭✭✭) A Solid scent, and should be looked at for vetiver lovers as a refreshing vetiver based scent. Might be my next Atelier purchase, but at the moment not good enough to buy.
