I am not an internet junkie (okay fine I am, but I’m still archaic and backwards), so I had only heard about Jeff the Killer in 2013, but supposedly the story had been floating around the internet since 2008. Personally, I have no idea why this Jeff the Killer guy is so scary. I mean the story behind Jeff the Killer is bland and simple. I suppose that is relative, but a simple story can certainly entertain simple minds; think Twilight for example. I’m not going to go into details of the story, but supposedly Jeff the Killer was a high school or college student who was transporting a barrel of acid and he spilled it on himself, disfiguring his face to something similar to The Joker’s. He’s also a psychopath (amazing right?) who likes to kill people, but for some reason there is nothing really creepy or scary about him as the entire slasher theme has been done to death.
This is the original image of Jeff the Killer. Sure he looks creepy as hell, but it’s just a poorly photoshopped image that looks like a silly cartoon character.
Supposedly (according to Reddit sources), Jeff the Killer’s face was photoshopped from the chick above. According to sources, she supposedly committed suicide because she was bullied. I don’t condone bullying by the way.
Then again, I’ll be condescending as I want, but anyone who thought that Jeff the Killer is real must seriously have the mental capacity of a 13 year old and that’s not saying much. Eventually with the progression of social media, Jeff the Killer is brought to life by numerous cosplayers, Youtubers and bloggers who wanted to add more realism to Jeff the Killer. They failed miserably.
The guy above is supposed to be the “new” Jeff the Killer. Personally, I think he looks like some faggot emo dude who is just not cool enough to be Goth. I suppose he would be scary to a 13 year old (considering he’ legally an adult and looks like a pedophile), but how he could possibly scare anyone else is beyond my understanding.
Above: This is your typical emo teen girl cosplaying as Jeff the Killer. Actually, I’m not sure if it’s a chick or a dude, these emo kids are rather androgynous you know? See how the 2008 Heath Ledger version of The Joker inspired his/her makeup?
Heath Ledger as The Joker; same make up, same scars as Jeff the Killer. I’m fairly certain Dark Knight came first. No originality whatsoever. but even if it didn’t, there was still Ichi the Killer in 2001.
Before The Joker (Heath Ledger Batman Dark Knight version), there was Ichi the Killer. This blonde Japanese dude in the above picture is not Ichi the Killer, but Kakihara, a Japanese Yakuza mob hitman who’s mouth shares quite a resemblance to Jeff the Killer’s. Ichi the Killer was filmed in Japan in 2001 by the way.
Here’s Kakihara blowing smoke out of his cheeks. As you can see, the only thing holding his cheeks together is the facial piercing. Kakihara is described in the movie (and Manga) as a Sadist and a Masochist, “the ultimate Yakuza killer”.
Supposedly, Jeff the Killer did the same thing. But why did he cut his mouth open? No one knows, because the author kept it vague and limited it to “his mother walked in on him and saw him cutting his face, then he killed her”. Okay… so he’s a self loathing, masochist, emo kid seeking attention, and now he’s pissed at the world, that’s why. There’s really no other reason.
